Pittsburgh, PA, April 16, 2012 – Outlaw Artisans announces the opening of this season’s Naked in Pittsburgh art show. Pittsburgh’s premier figurative works show features 50 local and national artists and photographers in a celebration of our shared human form.  The show will open June 1st from 6-9pm at Red Door Space, 2112 Sarah Street in Pittsburgh’s Southside neighborhood.  The show opening will feature many of the contributing artists meeting with patrons.  Though sales are a goal, this evening will focus on a canned food drive to support Pittsburgh area food banks.  The show will continue to run until June 16th at Red Door Space.  Gallery hours will be posted on our website.

Outlaw Artisans is a promotional company dedicated to the exposure of emerging artists, musicians, poets, and artisans.  The Naked in Pittsburgh series of shows are our most attended events, and attracts artists from around the country.  The caliber of art is top rated, and the variety of styles and media in this show is legion.  Works presented at this show are sure to impress everyone from the casual patron to the avid collector.

5-13-12 Judges Confirmed

The Naked in Pittsburgh 2012 judges have been confirmed. Sita Mae and Reagan Heller have agreed to participate in the Naked in Pittsburgh show, taking the difficult task of awarding work with accolades.    Sita Mae and Reagan Heller’s biographies follow.

Sita Mae

California native Sita Mae is an internationally published and exhibited photographer.  She has recently participated in several prestigious exhibits, including: The Kinsey Institute’s 2011 Juried Art Show; the annual “Photowork” exhibit, juried by Laura Hinkson, Assistant Curator at the Guggenheim; “Nude Nite” in both Tampa and Orlando; The Dirty Show; and the Professional Women Photographer’s “Contrasts” exhibit in New York City, juried by Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Ruth Fremson.

Additionally, Sita Mae has had two solo shows in 2011, at Ron Jeremy’s Gallery Sesso in Portland, Oregon, and at Gallery 31 Fine Art in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Her work was featured in the January/February 2012 issue of French PHOTO Magazine, UK’s Bizarre Magazine, and several issues of UK’s Filament Magazine – including the January 2011 cover.

In 2012, Sita Mae’s focus has been on exploring the boundaries of erotica and figure work using her iPhone as her primary tool, and she has been exhibiting that body of work around the US and Europe. Several pieces are currently on exhibit in Kentucky’s K.A.S. Gallery.

One of the few photographers exhibiting her works almost exclusively on aluminum, her photography has been called “lush,” “fresh,” and “strong” by curators.  Delving into the figurative with both male and female subjects, Sita Mae’s work aims to blur the line between cerebral fine art and visceral erotica.

Reagan Heller

Reagan began her foray into the world of entertainment technology at Carnegie Mellon University through her undergraduate years being involved with ETC projects. This led to working with Randy Pausch’s ALICE team at the Carnegie Mellon Human Computer Interaction department, and prompted her to pursue her graduate degree with the ETC after receiving her undergraduate in Communications Design and minoring in Fine Art with digital concentration. From there she was able to work on various team graduate projects scoping edutainment to social experimentation games. After an internship with Walt Disney Imagineering’s VR Studio group- she returned to finish her Masters degree and decided to stay in the Pittsburgh area to help found Schell Games.

Currently, Reagan is the Studio Art Director at Schell Games. She is responsible for the visual quality of all aspects of each project Schell Games produces. Her oversight is far reaching, from Concept Art to Character Design, from 3D Architecture to User Interface Design.  Her years of art creation and art supervision have helped to establish Schell Games as a leader in the electronic entertainment industry.
